About mongers.org

Don't let the name confuse you. We may be mongers, but there is nothing organised about us whatsoever.

mongers.org is a privately owned Internet domain. Content and services are provided on a whatever-we-feel-like basis. If you are just browsing, we hope it was good for you too.

mongers.org was created to provide a home for the owner and a few carefully selected individuals. The purpose is to provide a secure, reliable system for email and more. If you are granted an account on this system, you should never have to change your email address again.

Security information

The description of our security architecture should not be taken as an invitation to poke at us, just to see if we will notice. We have better things to do than chase down little kids.

Persistent security violations may be subject to a $2000 fee per incident. In addition, there is a $3000 tracking fee to cover travel expenses, legal fees, etc. You may exempt yourself from this tracking fee by sending email to the staff with a description of what you did, time stamp, source IP and billing address.

Can I get an account?

Probably not. If you know Alex well, and if you are not just collecting accounts you may get lucky. He wishes to reserve access for those who really need it, and especially those who can, or intend to learn to, make the best of it.

Ask him for access. He will say no, or tell you to read all of this site handbook, especially the policies. If you are intimately familiar with UNIX, you should be able to fly through it. (Especially as the handbook is not complete. Ahem.)

If Alex finds that the security of your system may provide an avenue of attack against mongers.org, you will not get access. If you have objections to reading "all those pages" you are probably not the type of person welcome on this system.

Once you have taken the time to carefully read everything, and perhaps respond correctly to a few questions, your account will be created.
